Asylum Seekers Campaign is funded by the NZF and aims to help asylum seekers and refugees with hardship grants and legal and language support.

Description

Since its inception in 2011, National Zakat Foundation (NZF) has received almost 600 applications from asylum seekers and refugees in the UK who are eligible for Zakat. This equates to 20% of our total applications. Sometimes they possess nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

They have faced a whole range of difficulties, from hunger to homelessness, from fuel poverty to the inability to afford legal fees to pursue legitimate asylum claims.

NZF provides three main avenues of support: hardship grants, legal support and language support for healthcare professionals.

This is the journey we wish to pave for all applicants in a transformation which takes them from being a Zakat recipient to a Zakat payer.
